The preliminary pony triple challenge is a championship open to preliminary drivers in the single and pair divisions. The triple challenge concept was developed to promote driving ponies and to broaden pony competitor participation throughout the United States.

Eligibility requires the driver to be a current member of the American Driving Society and compete with the same animal(s) at the three designated events.

1998 is the premier year for the preliminary pony triple challenge. The combined driving events selected to host the challenge were The Garden State Horse and Carriage Association C.D.E., The Gladstone Spring C.D.E, with the final leg being the C.A.I. Gladstone Driving Event.

Sponsors for the 1998 pony triple challenge are the Freedman Harness, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Hats By Katie, Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, Albert’s Equine Dental Supply , Albany, New York and two anonymous donors.

The National Pony Advocates would like to thank all those pony drivers who have supported the host events and it is our hope that they and other pony competitors continue to do so in the future.
